There has been a tragedy in our local community today. The high school I attended, South Albany High School in Albany, Oregon, had an early morning fire today. The unique thing about this high school is that it is made up of 11 separate buildings, which was to their benefit today. Never the less they have suffered a great loss today. They lost their Cafeteria building which also housed the band, choir, home economics, and child development classrooms. It is a complete loss. It was a four alarm fire and they brought in fire fighters from all surrounding communities to help. The fire fighters were wonderful in the fact that they were able to protect all the buildings close to this one in order to prevent it from spreading. Needless to say this school is in a great need for help now. We would like to contribute at least in some small part.
We are going to be donating $0.50 for every item that is bought from April 1, 2015 through May 1, 2015. This money will go to help of replacing band instruments and music, as well as helping to rebuild the cafeteria. All donations that are being given to the school district regarding the school are 100% going to this cause.
